Job Summary
- The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving the physical properties of The Refuge, Kannapolis, including the Life Campus.
Support
- The Facilities Manager will support the ministry of The Refuge by giving attention to the daily operational responsibilities of the organization.
- They will support the ministries of The Refuge by maintaining the highest level of moral integrity as well as a commitment to the unity of the organization.

- The Facilities Manager will steward The Refuge church properties with a true sense of ownership and display a high level of integrity and efficiency in all they do.
Essential Functions
- Operate, repair, improve and maintain the properties of The Refuge as directed by the COO and or the Office Manager/HR Director.
- Operate and ensure the overall efficiency of all mechanical systems primarily of the Main Campus in addition to assisting any special event or service designated by the COO and or the Office Manager/HR Director.
- Responsible for scheduling and completing routine maintenance of all vehicles, mechanical equipment, HVAC, Plumbing, lighting systems and security systems.
- Responsible for assisting and resolving any facility related issues that arise at any of The Refuge properties.
- Responsible for recruiting volunteer teams and coordinating their schedules.
- Participate in the planning, preparation and support of special events.
- Participate in the planning, designing and construction of stage sets.
- Oversee various service agreements and the management of contracted vendors.
- Responsible for managing, ordering and organizing all facility maintenance supplies.
- Working a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, based upon the needs of The Refuge.
- Responsible for performing weekly routine services designated by the COO and or the Office Manager/HR Director.
- For example ( but not limited to):
- Exterior inspection – clean up, fix deficient items, inspect courtyard and keep fountains operating and clean, water plants and ensure they have a healthy appearance, inspect roof
- Interior inspection – clean up, fix deficient items, spot check every clock and adjust, organize shop, housekeeping and storage rooms, distribute water when needed, perform restroom refresh, touch up painting via the weekly zone schedule, clean and damp mop platform floor.
- Keep restrooms clean and all key supplies filled for all events.

Knowledge, Skills , and Abilities
- Excellent Communication skills: both written and verbal.
- Must be a team player able to work alongside multiple departments
- Forward thinking/strategic/problem solver
- Organized and can create systems
- Takes initiative and is a self-starter
- Has experience with general building maintenance (including, carpentry, plumbing, electrical etc…)
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Must have basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft office suite)
- Demonstrates the ability to stay levelheaded under pressure while serving.
- Possess the ability to effectively manage several initiatives at the same time (multi-tasking).
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned by the COO and Office Manager.
Supervision
- The Facilities Manager will report to the COO.
